The story
Ginani marks the first cutting of the wheat. The valley dresses up, the drums come out, and the first grain is blessed and shared. It is Hunza's own celebration rather than a show put on for visitors — which is exactly why it is worth seeing.
What it feels like
A whole valley in a good mood at once, and a very old ritual done sincerely.
