The story
Cars stop at Raikot Bridge. From there a local 4×4 and driver take you up the Raikot track towards Tato — a narrow, spectacular, single-lane climb that is genuinely one of the great mountain roads. From Tato it is a walk through pine forest with Nanga Parbat growing at every turn.
What it feels like
Your hand on the grab-handle, drops you try not to look at, and enormous relief and delight at the top.
